The International Bank is a new bank facility located in the recently designated Historical District. The prominent location of the 7,200 SF building is bordered by the new Purgatoire River Development. The context of the site as situated in this historical warehouse district recalls the industrial architecture of the past, as well as the railway systems for transport of provisions. As a result, Sholar Group designed the new bank to emulate the architectural form of a traditional train station. The location of the drive-thru lanes is highly visible from the interstate highway, and as a result, cleverly imitates the train portals under a single roof structure. The exterior materials are handsomely detailed with the traditional materials of brick and stucco, while exposed steel and wood complete the structural and detail elements. The interior of the building is exquisitely traditional while expressing subtle contemporary details.
