United Western Bank - Cherry Creek

United Western Bank has created a traditional image of strength, yet fully comfortable for their identity in the Denver market. The North Cherry Creek branch is their first building in a series of high profile Colorado Front Range banks. This striking two-story facility is located on a very prominent intersection, but challenging insofar as the small site size and operational needs of the bank. On the main level, Sholar created a small footprint of the basic banking functions along with parking. The second level, which is above the parking area, provides exceptional space for banking functions. Sholar has taken the architectural style of the exterior and gracefully brought it inside with master detailing, such as the doors, mouldings, and other period images that invite customers into this warm environment.

Along with our client's direction, Sholar created a prototypical design for a 5,500 SF banking facility with three drive-up lanes. The image of United Western Bank expresses the traditional flavor of America's Colonial era while conveying a warm and comfortable feeling within and outside the building with simple yet elegant detailing. We worked closely with the developer and the local jurisdiction to set the building for efficient traffic flow, as well as the correct street exposure for the bank's marketing, and used existing landscaping to soften and buffer the adjacent properties.

The prototypical image that we created gives the 5,000 SF facility a unique traditional American character that has strength and staying power symbolizing the United States and United Western Bank. Working with the developer, Sholar created a site plan which easily flows with vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The colorful and bold landscaping is developed to enhance the building and soften the neighboring sites.
